5 Types of Email To Send
There are many kinds of email marketing campaigns. Not every email is about selling.
Let me repeat this. Not every email is about selling.
Yes, you read that correctly!
From a customer’s perspective, they did not sign up to be part of your email list so that you could pitch your products to them every week.
Here are 5 Types of Email to Send.
Let’s begin.
The Welcome Email
When a customer signs up to be part of your email list, it’s time to engage them. Build your brand with a Welcome Email Marketing Campaign series. Tell your new customers what your company is all about so they get to know you better.
Choose to craft your campaign by using one to five emails depending on the number of products and services you offer.
Read more about this in my blog post, 5 Reasons to Send A Welcome Email.
The Re-engagement Email Marketing Campaign
Re-engagement Email Marketing Campaigns are for customers who haven’t recently engaged with your brand. Maybe it’s been a while since they purchased or opened your emails. On the other hand, perhaps it’s been a while since you contacted your subscribers.
Set up a Re-engagement Email Marketing Campaign of three to five emails to get them back into action. You’ll need to give them more than one single message. Remind them of the value and benefits of your brand.
Some of the best practices for winning these customers back include:
- Setting up a sequence of emails. Three to five emails targeted to your customers are more successful than a single message.
- Offering a discount to entice re-engagement.
- Add a solid call to action (CTA) above the fold.
- Providing an opt-out opportunity. If that customer isn’t returning, it’s best to get them off your email list.
The Promotional Email
Let your customers know about sales and special offers. Then, of course, there are important days and holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and the biggest retail holiday of all, Christmas Day.
You need copy that sells your products. A promotional email aims to move customers from their inbox to your website. When gearing up for a big holiday, keep reminding customers how your products will benefit them.
I write copy in a way that lets the reader envision themselves using and enjoying the products and services of my clients. It’s highly effective!
The New Product or Service Email
If you have a new product or service you can offer your customers, it’s time to announce it! A fun way to do this is with a countdown. You can even start with an element of surprise, hinting at the new products or services to come.
For fun, you could even offer your product or service to your customers before it hits the market. This would really make your customers understand the value of being part of your email list and community. You’ll make your new product or service email a hit!
The Newsletter
The newsletter is one of the most underused email marketing ideas. It’s also an excellent option for sharing news about your company.
I worked on contract with a Northern European supplement company for over six months. I wrote monthly newsletters that were a behind-the-scenes look at the team, and what was happening in the pristine location, they were located in. There were profiles, recipes, and local happenings that readers found fascinating. These newsletters were also brimming with lovely shots of nature.
The open rates were incredible!
In Conclusion
That’s a wrap on the 5 Types of Email To Send.
Using a variety of email types will keep your readers interested and informed. Remember, your customers have signed up to be part of your community. Make them feel welcome. Share information. This is about establishing trust. It’s not just a sales pitch!
